Anti-male House of Representatives approves anti-male Senate version of the Violence Against Women Act” (VAWA)

March 5, 2013
By

NOTE: For those of you who insist that VAWA is gender neutral and inclusive how is it that it’s the Violence Against Women Act?  Think about it…

This well written article by Michael Conzachi was being considered for publication by the Los Angeles Times, which then declined to run it. It’s interesting that the LA Times even considered publishing the article since historically the news paper has not been very supportive of injustices committed against men as a group. Maybe the decision not to publish the article is nothing more than an affirmation that things are status quo at the LA Times. If they endorse Sheila Kuehl for Mayor then we will know for sure.

On Thursday, Congress voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.  While any type of intimate partner violence is deplored, this act, as it has been since its inception, has expanded definitions of domestic violence that codifies virtually any type of marital discord as domestic violence, while at the same time has virtually eliminated constitutional protections and due process guarantees.

As is usually the case, proponents of the act portray opposition as being anti-women.  Nothing can be further from the truth.  Opponents of the current Senate version actually wanted equality for all victims of intimate partner violence, not more and expanded protections for specific groups based on nothing more than gender, country of origin, sexual identity, or tribal affiliations.  Opponents also wanted the return of the presumption of innocence, the restoration of constitutional rights and due process, the elimination of gender based discriminatory practices, and a viable system in place for accountability to reduce waste and fraud which is currently at epidemic levels.

Dr. Martin Feibert PhD, a Professor of Psychology at California State University at Long Beach has compiled a bibliography of over 300 research and scholarly articles and papers spanning a time period of over thirty years, which essentially concludes that intimate partner violence is perpetrated equaly among the sexes.  The facts and evidence are staggering.

A national organization advocating for all victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; Stop Abusive and Violent Environments, has published a lengthy list of reports on the entire sphere of intimate partner violence and sexual assault that is based on fact, science, logic, and common sense; and not based on extremist gender ideology that we have been so accustomed to hearing.  Others calling for reform include countless medical, psychological, legal, constitutional and judicial professionals and educators.  The support for comprehensive reform spans all professions, and all groups and genders, including a number of women’s rights groups.

Based on the non-existence of the presumption of innocence, the constitutional and due process violations, the lack of accountability, the presence of gender based discriminatory practices, and the exceptionally high rates of fraud, waste and abuse are the reasons for the initial opposition to the current version of the act, not a delusional war on women.  Sadly we have all been accustomed to the constant and repeated assertions of extremist rhetoric, rather than fact, science, logic, common sense, and intelligent debate.

The end result will yield the ongoing and continuing decimation of the family unit, the continuing erosion of constitutional protections and the continuing and preventable harm being inflicted upon our children.

Um, I read the law and it is gender neutral. The title references women, and that’s the original title from 20 years ago. LGBT folks made sure the rest is gender neutral.

Also domestic violence is defined as violent assaults, That’s it.

If these new protections for women are put in place we should ask what is at the root of this? Are women afforded greater protection because the have lesser physical strength than men. Well given that a women doesn’t use a weapon then I submit if the above be accepted as an axiom then women should face equal punishment for henpecking (since they are too weak to fight back). Is this what female/male relations should come too?

Thank you for the article about the LA Times etc. If the new law goes thru why would any man want to get married ever? Many men support a host of women’s rights issues but could not really evere do anything about it. Because of the abundance of lobbyist and their money in Washington we are ignored. Now the pendulum has swung. But not in favor of true equality between men and women but toward women having a greater and unequal share of power. We should not trade one injustice for another and call that striving for equality.

Any city USA is “Los MIsandry” as shown in the video “Los Misandry” at Youtube.

“Gender feminism’s ideology inanely alleges that men use violent power and control to oppress women in order to maintain their privileged status as members of ‘Patriarchy.’ But beneath gender-feminist influenced laws that falsely allege a privileged male sex exists many men who possess no male privilege. A sidewalk is their bed, a shopping cart their mansion.

For most men in America today, ‘male privilege’ is a myth, a lie made painfully unreal by the harsh realities of male disposability.

Domestic violence law is but one of many areas where men are vilified, devalued and inhumanely discriminated against.” For more go to “Los Misandry” at Youtube.
