Mariposa County Supervisor Marshall Long. Click on the picture to go to the County’s website for a picture of the entire Board of Supervisors. We wonder how the rest of the Supervisors will feel if it’s discovered Supervisor Long has business dealings with Mark Adams of California Receivership Group? Wouldn’t that be interesting…

On November 19, 2018, we sent a letter by email to Mariposa County, California, Sheriff Doug Binnewies requesting a criminal investigation of Mariposa County Board of Supervisors Member Marshall Long. Because of the provincial nature of local politics, we do not anticipate a positive outcome.

Those of you following the Jerry Cox story know that NCFM is deeply involved with Jerry’s situation. Jerry is a rancher and agri-business operator. It appears Mariposa County officials and their representatives are trying to bankrupt Jerry and steal his over 420-acre ranch, an effort facilitated by false sexual assault allegations against Jerry.

On November 1, 2018 at 12:07 pm, Mr. Cox received the following harassing email message from Mariposa County Supervisor Marshall Long.

Marshall Long

In our letter to Sheriff Binnewies we wrote:

The above email is childish, irresponsible, unprofessional, appalling, inappropriate and perhaps illegal. Deprived of his home and business for almost two years, Mr. Cox is homeless and without income, of which Mr. Long is fully aware. He is also aware, or certainly should be, that such deprivation is due in significant part to highly questionable, false, if not contrived, mal-administered, perhaps politically motivated, and probably illegal County criminal charges, code enforcement actions and resulting receivership of Mr. Cox’s property. All or a significant part of which may violate Title 18 U.S. Code § 242 – Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law and other laws.

If Mr. Long sent the above email from a Mariposa County device or on County time, he may also have violated California Government Code section 91000 – 91014, ET. al., Ethics of Elected Officials, as well as Title 18 U.S. Code § 1346, Honest Services Fraud.

Additionally, Mr. Cox recently ran against Mr. Long for his County Supervisor seat. No less than a half dozen people can attest to seeing Supervisor Long removing Mr. Cox’s political signs from various locations and intimidating local residents to vote against him.

Due to the well-documented history of provincialism and corruption in Mariposa County, these witnesses understandable fear retaliation by county officials. We referred them to the FBI’s Public Corruption Unit.

We are asking that you investigate whether Supervisor Long committed illegal acts with regard to the above email. If so, that you charge him accordingly.

We asked for a response within 10 business days of the date of our letter. We’ll let you know…
