Pat is involved with NCFM because of her commitment to equal treatment. She has been involved in all aspects of the Domestic Violence Industry and early on realized that men are victims of domestic violence as well as women. Pat recently moved from Salinas, CA to San Diego, CA to help NCFM-SD with grant writing, developing programs, and conducting workshops.

While now in private practice Pat was, among other things since 1984, (1) Executive Director, Women’s Crisis Center, Salinas, CA (2) Chief Executive Officer, Antelope Valley, CA, Domestic Violence Council/Valley Oasis Shelter (3) Executive Director/Founder, A NEW DAY, Inc. and (4) Executive Director, Emergency Shelter Program, Inc. Pat’s full history is available here: Pat’s history.

Pat spent much of her career working to reduce relationship violence, sexual assault, and stalking as well as provide much needed services to those involved. Thanks to Pat’s open heart, uncompromising belief in equitable treatment, and steadfast belief that all victims of domestic violence need services, the Antelope Valley shelter was the first shelters in the United States that accepted male victims of domestic violence and their children. Pat withstood incredible pressure to not serve male victims from ideologically driven domestic violence organizations linked through a powerful Los Angeles, CA consortium. Pat is a pioneer in the domestic violence industry, much of what is good therein can be attributed directly to her dedication and perseverance.

Patricia will provide a free 30 minute initial consultation to NCFM members having difficulty with some non legal aspect of relationship violence.

I met Pat at the Sacramento Conference (?)and was mightily impressed wit this lion of a woman whose uncompromising love of humanity and refusal to bow down to gender feminist persecution caused her so much suffering. We hugged each other and I was upset to hear of her death but comforted now that she was at peace .

      Hi Erin,

Thank you for your comment about Pat. Both of you helped make the world a better place for all of us. Harry Crouch.

I’m impressed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s both equally educative and entertaining, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is something which not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I found this during my search for something concerning this.
