NCFM Presents “False Accusers Must Be Held Accountable” at Summit to Kick-off False Allegation Awareness Month

May 30, 2011
By

In Washington D.C.,Wednesday, June 2, 2011, Stop Abusive and Violent Environments (SAVE) will host the first ever summit and to kick-off False Allegations Awareness Month.

National Coalition of Men President Harry Crouch will be attending and presenting the paper “False Accusers Must Be Held Accountable”.

In May 2011 Stop Abusive and Violent Environments conducted the first-ever national survey of false allegations of abuse. The results are revealing, reinforce the notion that false accusations are epidemic, and most are committed by women against men. Thank you SAVE for helping put facts in the face of those with the fantasy that false accusations are rare.

THE SURVEY

The survey defined “abuse” to include child abuse, domestic violence, or sexual abuse.

Telephone calls were placed to 10,000 households around the country. The survey purpose and methods are described here: http://www.saveservices.org/false-allegations-awareness-month/purpose-and-methods/

The survey had a 23% response rate, which is slightly higher than the 15-20% rate that computer-activated surveys of this sort typically experience.

These are the highlights:

  • Over 15% of the respondents personally knew someone who has been falsely accused
  • 81% of the falsely accused persons were male
  • Nearly 70% of the accusers were female
  • In over a quarter of the cases – 26% –  the accusation was made as part of a child custody dispute
  • 11% of respondents said they themselves had been falsely accused of abuse

Due to the survey’s reliance on voter registration records and its response rate, it is necessary to exercise caution in generalizing the survey findings to the national population as a whole. The actual percentage may be higher or lower than the survey findings. Future surveys are needed to confirm the results of this study.

Following are the detailed results:

Question Percent  Responding “Yes” Percent  Responding “No”
1. Have you ever heard of anyone falsely accused of abuse? 48.4% 51.6%
2. Has anyone you know ever been falsely accused of abuse? 15.5% 84.5%
3. Was this person falsely accused of child abuse?* 74.0% 26.0%
4. Was this person falsely accused of domestic violence?* 28.9% 71.1%
5. Was this person falsely accused of sexual abuse?* 48.5% 51.5%
6. Was this person falsely accused in the last year? 17.7% 82.3%
7. Was the falsely accused person a male? 81.0% 19.0%
8. Was the accuser a female? 69.9% 30.1%
9. Was the accusation made as part of a child custody dispute? 25.8% 74.2%
10. Have you been falsely accused? 11.0% 89.0%

* Responses may have been influenced by the ordering of questions 3-5.

A good friend is about to go on trial based on the false accusations of his estranged wife and her live in boyfriend. This is ruining his life, both financially and career-wise. I hope and pray the jury will see the truth beyond this woman's lies and there will be a successful outcome.

Let's hope these efforts will eventually bring about action to end the plague of false accusations being conjured and coached by Joe Biden's evil, taxpayer funded, Violence Against Women Act.

I think we men who are being victimize by the liberals and feminist have to be united and go after the politicians like the feminist did in the 60's . The male and female politicians know what is going on and they don't care just so they can make themselves look good in front of the liberals and feminist. And it is the liberals and feminist who are creating this for their selfish gain and sick vengeance.

Terri: I feel your pain. I am a victim of being falsely accused – and although the incident happened over 2 years ago, I am haunted by it every day. I have been unable to move past it, and I don't trust any woman – not being with anyone since my ex-wife. That experience took merely 22-25 seconds, but it changed my life forever. I even took a lie detector test to prove my innocence and successfully passed, but not even this matters to the courts and law enforcement. I have heard over-and-over: "it's the system, nothing you can do", "gotta eat it and move on", etc. – but unless you've walked in our shoes, people just don't know. Where would African-Americans, women, and homosexuals be today if they adhered to "it's just the system, nothing you can do." This is a serious problem. Laws that were originally designed to protect battered women are now being manipulated by vicious women for their own gain. I wish I could attend the summit, where we could meet up and talk, but I live in San Diego. Please let me know how it goes, and I'll say a little prayer for your son. Brian C.

I am attending with Teri Stoddard and Ed Bartlett. My son was falsely accused and then convicted on circumstantial evidence only. Justin is still serving time for a crime that was exaggerated by his ex who conjured up the story with her ex high school boyfriend who ended up dating again immediately after having Justin arrested. This took place in October 2007 and we are continuing to fight for his release. I am now a third year criminal justice major and will continue to work for this cause as there are too many false accused persons in our prisons.
