Joan A. Harmon, 44, Elkton, pleaded guilty on Oct. 14. On Wednesday, Judge Andrew Self granted her five years of unsupervised probation in lieu of jail time, according to court documents.
The charge stems from Harmon marrying Major Christian “Kit” Martin on Dec. 7, 2004, while she was still legally married to Carlos Guerra, who lives in Springfield, Tennessee.
According to court records, Harmon and Martin lived together as husband and wife for nearly a decade at Martin’s home, 458 S. Main St. in Pembroke.
Martin, a soldier who is currently awaiting a court-martial on charges of sexual abuse and mishandling classified information, was detained by investigators at Fort Campbell following the Nov. 19 discovery of the three bodies.
