Dr. Nelson research is deeply rooted in scientific method (search for the truth) versus advocacy research (search for anything to support a belief even if it’s fabricated).

Scientific method is the ” systematic observation, measurement, and experiment, and the formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses” (Merriam-Webster). Or, its fact based. Advocacy research is research carried out with the intention of providing evidence and arguments that can be used to support a particular cause or position (Merriam-Webster). “[advocacy] research studies bend their research methods in order to inflate the magnitude of the social problem described, and thereby enhance the case for public action to address the issue” (Oxford). In other words, advocacy research relies on fabrications, well intended or otherwise. Fact versus exaggerations, misrepresentation, lies and myths.

n this very revealing presentation, Dr. Nelson dispels the falsehoods of the domestic violence industry, which should be watched by everyone interested in the domestic violence industry; and, truth.
