The National Coalition for Men (NCFM) supports genuine gender equality and rejects all forms of genderâbased hatred. Recent reportingâincluding the UN News article on the âmanosphere,â[i] the Southern Poverty Law Centerâs (SPLC) âhate groupâ label[ii], and a January 2026 OB Rag piece[iii]âmisrepresents NCFM by grouping a 47âyearâold civilârights nonprofit with anonymous extremist communities.
NCFM is not an online subculture. We engage in legal advocacy, public education, and direct support for primarily male survivors of domestic violence. Our work is transparent, evidenceâbased, and rooted in fairness for all of us.
Mischaracterizations in the UN News Article
The 2025 UN News article claims menâsâadvocacy groups âreject feminismâ and portray women negatively. This does not describe NCFM. We have long collaborated with womenâs organizations and support equal rights for women and men.
What we reject are supremacist, radical, and misandric forms of feminismâideologies that promote gender hostility, deny male victimization, or advocate policies that disadvantage males. These are not synonymous with womenâs rights.
Such behaviors include portraying men as inherently violent, dismissing male victims, promoting collective guilt, framing fathers as threats, and treating menâs issues as extremist. These narratives can distort public policy and marginalize legitimate concerns.
The SPLCâs Unsupported âHate Groupâ Designation
The SPLC labeled NCFM a âmale supremacist hate groupâ without identifying any statements or actions that meet a reasonable definition of hate or extremism. NCFM challenged the claim in 2019 and again in 2024â2025; SPLC admitted its designation reflected âopinion,â not evidence.
The contradiction is stark: SPLC honored NCFMâs late Vice President Marc Angelucci on its own âWall of Toleranceâ at the SPLC Civil Rights Memorial Center in Montgomery, Alabama.
The unsupported label harms the public, misinforms institutions, and undermines services for male and female survivors we assist.
The SPLC has a documented history of using emotionally charged designations to drive fundraising[iv]. The manosphere is a politically safe, highâemotion target for SPLCâs donor base. By labeling NCFM â a longstanding civilârights organization â as a âmale supremacist hate group,â the SPLC expands its threat narrative in a way that aligns with its financial incentives and fundraising patterns. Like many others, SPLCâs framing of NCFM and âmale supremacyâ aligns with its donor base.
Local Example: OB Rag
A January 2026 OB Rag article repeated SPLCâs claims apparently without evidence or examination of NCFMâs work. This mirrors the UN News articleâs failure to distinguish legitimate advocacy from online extremism. They did not call us for comment.
Ignoring Menâs RealâWorld Challenges
Both articles omit wellâdocumented issues affecting boys and men, including suicide rates, educational decline, workplace fatalities, homelessness, familyâcourt barriers, and lack of services for male victims. Focusing only on harms men may cause while ignoring harms men experience distorts public understanding.
NCFM
NCFM supports positive guidance and welcomes collaboration with any institution committed to fairness and accuracy. Progress requires rejecting all forms of âbased extremismâwhether directed at women or at menâand acknowledging related concerns without ideological bias.

The first and foremost issue that cannot be overlooked is MONEY. Follow the money trail, from and to, and what is it used for; to continue to achieve a false narrative, or for personal enrichment? Logic suggests it is both. In order to achieve a false narrative, you must vigorously continue negative stereotypes towards those that stand in your way or are fearful of the truth being exposed. I think we see this multiple times on a daily basis.
Whether the following phrase originated from Joseph Goebbles, Hitlerâs minister of propaganda, Lenin, Hitler or Orwell in â1984,â if you repeat the lie often enough and loud enough, people will believe it to be the truth. Psychologists refer to this phenomenon as the âillusionary truth effect,â where repeated exposure to a statement increases the likelihood of people believing it is true.
The truth and the reality is that the SPLC doesnât care how much damage they do with their false narrative. While I am fully aware that NCFM is not a political organization nor does it take a political stand, you cannot ignore the tsunami of propaganda, lies, and false narratives that comes from primarily one side of the political aisle and the various groups they are aligned with.
This false narrative has metastasized from a basic difference of opinion to something that has now devolved into the bowels of abject lunacy and pure unadulterated evil.
NCFM has unequivocally supported the concept of fairness and has exposed the inequities facing men and boys in a dignified and professional manner since day one.
My cousins boyfriend was brutally beaten by police, for a crime he didn’t commit. Through one of NCFM’s members advocacy work, I was only in jail for a week. That volunteer calls and checks in with me weekly to see how I’m doing. I’m still healing, but glad to be free. NCFM also offered emotional support to my cousin.
In 2024 my son was falsely accused of a crime, one that could put him away for 26 years if convicted. I looked everywhere for support and found little. My son is half Hispanic and lives in a predominantly white area. This makes a huge difference. I received a call back from NCFM, and we have received so much moral support.
In my son’s particular case, the female used every form of Coercive Control on him in order to abuse him further. She even orchestrated an assault against him, leaving him with a serious concussion.
I am grateful to the Chicago support network that has been there for us each week.
I have been a Women’s Rights Advocate for many years, and was SHOCKED to come to the realization that there is not much support for men out there when it comes to legal advocacy. They have not only supported my son, but also me. Men are taught to be tough and suck it up. NCFM however, endorses gender equality for men and women.
I fully support this organization!
Thank you!
