Activist Joe Manthey, Petaluma 360 article on rape biased

False accusations of sexual assault including rape may run as high as 70%. Women Industry operatives say 2%, which is patently ridiculous on its face. Think about it…

NCFM NOTE: not long ago Women Industries had a strangle hold on the media, articles about women making false accusations of rape were forbidden. An article like Mr. Manthey’s had as much chance of getting published as an abused man finding support services. Manthey points to shoddy Women Industry reporting techniques used to promote fantasies about big bad abusive men while completely obliterating by omission any rational thought of the abusive women. Here again is a blatant example of all rights and protection with no responsibility or guilt. Thank you Mr. Manthey and Petaluma 360. Article on rape was biased

By Joe Manthey

Published: Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 4:47 p.m.

I found it ironic that Argus-Courier reporter Janelle Wetzstein wrote an article, published May 10, praising high school journalism students for making a public information request “to get to the bottom” of a current event, as she evidently does not practice what she preaches. In her March 22 “Sexual assaults reports on the rise in Petaluma” article, she proclaimed that reported rapes in Petaluma more than doubled from 12 in 2011 to 25 in 2012.

As far as advocates, she only interviewed women advocates, both of whom patted themselves on the back by claiming that the increase was due to a “heightened awareness” of rape. The reporter and advocates, along with a female sergeant from the police department, implied that all the reported rapes occurred.

Had Wetzstein followed the “canons of journalism,” including accuracy, objectivity and fairness, she would have also interviewed advocates for men, as we would have informed her that not only are false accusations of rape common, but, while rape is a despicable crime, so is falsely accusing someone of such.

Then she would have made public information requests to the police department and DA’s office. I did so, and they revealed that of those 37 reported rapes, only three resulted in arrests. And of those, no criminal charges were filed.

While a portion of the allegations deemed not prosecutable may have been due to uncooperative victims, the odds are that a considerable amount of them didn’t happen. And while some may question whether our police department has a bias against women, one could argue the opposite, given that they didn’t arrest any female accusers who may have deceitfully reported they were raped, even though doing so is a crime.

The justification for this unwritten no-arrest policy is because of political pressure from women advocates, and because law enforcement agencies don’t want to discourage legitimate victims of sexual assault from coming forward to authorities.

As far as the DA’s Office and the question of bias against women, it’s run by a woman and their Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Unit webpage fails to acknowledge that men are victims, (unless they’re senior citizens), as it states, “This unit…works closely with law enforcement agencies on violent crimes against women, children and seniors.”

Moreover, the Sonoma County law enforcement agencies’ arrest rates and the DA’s office conviction rate for rape are universally low. For example, in 2011, there were 175 reported rapes in Sonoma County. Of those, only 41 were sent to the DA’s office and only 16 of those resulted in convictions, according to statistics published by the Women’s Justice Center.

Why? The reasons are many but false allegations play a significant role, as empirical evidence doesn’t support the widespread assumption that women are unlikely to make false accusations of male sexual misconduct.

Revenge for ending a relationship and covering up cheating are the most common justifications cited by women who made false rape reports, according to the Institute for Psychological Therapies, a private practice of clinical psychology. Other motivations include outside influence from therapists and others, habitual lying, advantages in child custody disputes and financial gain.

But the main reason may be because many of these women knew nothing would happen to them if they got caught, as it’s exceedingly rare for women who intentionally falsely accuse men of rape to be charged with a crime.

Virtually all media attention on a recent Pentagon report focused on an increase in service members’ claims of sexual abuse in an anonymous survey, but unmentioned were statistics, reported in the Washington Times, showing that a significant percentage of the cases investigated were found to be baseless. From 2009 to 2012, the number of sexual abuse reports rose 4 percent. During the same period, the number of “unfounded allegations” rose 35 percent.

Given that these relevant facts from a “men are innocent until proven guilty too” perspective were excluded from the article, perhaps the Argus -Courier newsroom will cease treating gender issues solely as “women’s issues,” as doing so often results in irresponsible journalism, not to mention misandrist reporting.

Rape is a serious crime with serious consequences.

The false accusation of rape has serious consequences except for the criminal who falsely reports. Think about that too…

If one man in twenty spent 1% of the effort Joe Manthey (Or Harry Crouch) did, in just one year, much less the many years these two have contributed, we would shut down the feminist propaganda machine and end the PC male bashing in America. Unfortunately most men seem to be cowards and ignorant of the facts.

“he raped me because I said he did, that’s all you need to know”
I am going through the same thing they found an revenge minded ex wife from decades ago who is making false accusations, never been to court, found guilty or anything like that…I am been dragged in front of a compensation board for victims on only her word that it happened and I have to defend myself in one town and her in another, with 2 board members and a lawyer at her side and me by myself, in a motel conference room, cant even afford a lawyer. I wish you could hear what was said…it is so ridiculous some have dubbed it a Salem witch trail.

ARE the proceedings being recorded, and if not why not? Get a copy and make a spare.
IS the ‘compensation’ board, acting under a legal statute or ACT that has a level of appeal above it?
Legal AID ought to be available… look for a civil rights NGO, or pro bono law firm. ADJOURN asap to seek counsel.
Research the ‘case law’ in that board, and know the ‘evidentiary’ standard they MUST follow.
In my world, “beyond a reasonable doubt” fits this quasi-CRIMINAL inquiry, and means YOU must present the doudt… her vile threats, communications, breaches of agreements, her criminal record, substance abuse, her psychological profile-treatment records her finances, her MOTIVATIONS… all matter. There can’t be evidence of rape, UNLESS you said you did to a credible third party, and they testify.
You have a RIGHT to full disclosure, in any democratic country, in any sort of claim made, and where HER credibility is the reasonable doubt available to you… DIG DEEP.
Last point… may an award to compensate her, ‘mean’ a civil suite may also follow and or a criminal ‘proof’ is made for charges? BE CAREFUL… know the law in your area.
(PMC Canadian veteran of the ‘system’, too.)

“some have dubbed it a Salem witch trail.”

Yep, “Witch-Hunting Males” at Youtube addresses the witch-hunting of males going on in our Western societies.

Honorable Men

The New Warrior community is a group of men who specially pride themselves on being honorable. Tim Goldich, President NCFM Chicago Chapter and author of, Loving Men, Respecting Women: The Future of Gender Politics joined that community several years ago. He came to realize just how vulnerable honorable men are to having their honor used against them. Our fate may indeed depend upon honorable conduct. To better understand how the misuse of Man’s honor is a root cause of issues and ideas found on this website you should first read Mr. Goldich’s article, The Honorable Man. It lights the way to understanding how The Honorable Man can be manipulated into becoming The Complacent Man.
