Dr. Fiebert completed his undergraduate work at Queens College, NY in 1960 and received his Doctorate from the University of Rochester, NY in 1965. Since then he has been a professor at Cal State Long Beach, CA as well as the President of the Long Beach Chapter of the California Faculty Association (CFA) from 2001-2003. One of his areas of specialty is Gender Studies: Psychology of Male Roles.

Dr. Fiebert has written numerous scholarly articles including but not limited to (1) Men, women and housework: The Roshomon Effect. Men’s Studies Review, 8(2), 6. (2) College students’ perception of men as victims of women’s assaultive behavior. Perceptual and Motor Skills, 82, 1-2. (3) Gender stereotypes: A bias against men. (1997). Journal: Journal of Psychology, 131, 407-410. (4) References examining men as victims of Women’s sexual coercion. Sexuality & Culture, 4, (3), 81-88 and (5) References examining assaults by women on their spouses or male partners: an annotated bibliography. (2004). Sexuality and Culture, 8, (3-4), 140-177.

He has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences and workshops, as well as a trainer in certification programs for domestic violence industry professionals.

His research studies in progress include but are not limited to (1) Male Victimization: A program of research exploring male victimization in the areas of physical abuse and sexual coercion (2) Interracial Dating project: An examination of the attitudes toward interracial couples, and the personal and cultural factors that lead to interracial dating.

Dr. Fiebert has a long list of contributions as a journal and book reviewer, consulting editor, media consultant/expert guest, and has major citations in books and magazines.

In 2003 and 2004, he was selected as An International Scientist of the Year.

He is perhaps best known for his extraordinary work in developing and maintaining the REFERENCES EXAMINING ASSAULTS BY WOMEN ON THEIR SPOUSES OR MALE PARTNERS: AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY. As of March 17, 2009 “…his bibliography examines 247 scholarly investigations: 188 empirical studies and 59 reviews and/or analyses, which demonstrate that women are as physically aggressive, or more aggressive, than men in their relationships with their spouses or male partners.  The aggregate sample size in the reviewed studies exceeds 240,200.”
