I have been involved with the Domestic Violence (DV) industry for decades. This includes being a member of the San Diego Domestic Violence Council, various committees, lobbying activities in California and Washington D.C., and working directly with hundreds (or even thousands, depending on how one looks at it) of victims and perpetrators of various forms of violence, including but not limited to “domestic” and “intimate partner” violence in various service programs, several of which I have created, implemented, and operated.
I have been threatened by police, accused of being sexist, a bigot, a woman-hater, and a misogynist, denied entrance to businesses and conferences, and threatened with bodily harm by irate feminists. I know of others who were not so lucky, such as my friend and longtime NCFM Vice-President Marc Angelucci, Esq., who was murdered in cold blood by another activist overwhelmed by years of similar mistreatment and inequities of life, particularly within the Women Industries (a term I coined twenty or so years ago). I have witnessed horrific injustices by courts, befriended and worked with many falsely accused and imprisoned men, and cried with good fathers stripped of children they love only to see them given to personality-disordered and violent mothers.
The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) has contributed to much of this, along with mandatory arrest policies that target males even if they are victims, prosecutors who refuse to hold female perpetrators accountable, a focus on law enforcement rather than constructive batterer interventions involving all parties, and shame-blame-and-guilt-driven male-focused programs.
There is a lack of accountability because sympathetic men will not stand up for themselves and politicians fear female voters. The principle of “women and children first” still rules, no matter how many innocent men lose their homes, children, livelihoods, and lives to homelessness and suicide. It is largely about money, including wealth transference and disenfranchisement of men, and as we all know, money corrupts.
We need reforms that ensure gender-neutral laws and policies to create a more balanced approach to addressing domestic violence. This includes pushing for changes in mandatory arrest policies and ensuring that both male and female perpetrators are held accountable. Courts, both criminal and civil, need to hold people equally accountable regardless of sex.
Support services, including batterer intervention programs, must be holistic and provide services to all parties involved, as solving one side of a problem solves nothing and, in the case of intimate partner violence, empowers the untreated to abuse more freely.
Male victims must also have male-centric counseling, shelters, and legal assistance provided by those who sincerely want to help males rather than re-indoctrinate them – therapists need not have degrees in Women or Gender Studies. Shame, blame, and guilt-driven programs must end, and efforts must be strengthened to change harmful stereotypes and biases about domestic violence. Educating the public, law enforcement, and legal professionals about the complexities of domestic violence and the need for a more inclusive approach can help foster understanding and improvement.
The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) provides funding for military DV programs, which are influenced by VAWA, thereby distorting overall military effectiveness, supported by Women Industry civilian contractors with ties to VAWA-funded programs outside the military establishment. We are directly involved in several military cases wherein highly awarded, competent, and career-minded personnel have been or are being railroaded out of the military and even imprisoned due to false accusations driven by political pressure, command staff, and agreeable, if not inept, judge advocate attorneys.
Corruption, malfeasance, and maladministration must stop. Those involved must be held accountable, go to prison, and make restitution. Restitution should be to the state and to those who have been harmed.
Hence the open letter to DOGE below. Please pass it around. It may help. Post it wherever you can please on social media sites.
Harry Crouch, President/Chairman of the Board
Thank you so much for this I’m almost in tears knowing I’m not alone in this fight to be seen as human.
You are very welcome and will never be alone…
EQUALITY IN THE GOP NEEDS TO INCLUDE MEN! Some thoughts for you here since some of us believe not feminists are sexist and some actually believe in gender equality. Though some seem to think equality doesn’t challenge ones beliefs of the other sex or that the other sex doesn’t merit the same equality, compassion, and laws. Some thoughts on current politics. How about preserve sports.. I back weight classes and standards based on sex in sports.. that said.. I never thought my party was the party of pushing old fashioned sexist dogma, I expect that here in Utah, but not on a National level. I am anti woke, think their are two sexes, but its 2024 the idea that only one sex is worthy of protections should be a thing of the past. This is an interesting article. PS before you get on your pew some of us have been victims.. for me it was as a child sexually assaulted by my babysitter.. who btw was the daughter of a cop and pillar of our small religious town. https://ncfm.org/2025/03/news/mens-health/ncfm-open-letter-to-doge-re-the-violence-against-women-act/
Outstanding Mr. Crouch. It is time to take a very deep dive into the hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars that are wasted every year. Funds should and must go to actual victims rather than lavish salaries and benefits. Rather, these millions are wasted and a huge portion of taxpayer dollars have been used for nothing more than luxury travel slush funds. The same applies to the military that has too many committees and panels to count, and factoring in labor hours for various military personnel involved in DV and sexual misconduct cases, millions of dollars are wasted on false allegation cases and rogue prosecutors who routine use false allegation cases as a stepping stone to promotion.
Well done! Thanks a million for writing this impressive missive!
Brilliant, Harry.
The soft underbelly of sexist feminism.
AND REMEMBER, In his first failed run for President, Biden stated that his sponsoring of VAWA was his proudest achievement.
