I am president of The National Coalition For Men. NCFM is a nonprofit educational organization that raises awareness about how sex discrimination adversely affects men and boys. Several people have brought to my attention a gender discriminatory poster hanging from a wall in the South County Courthouse, a copy of which is below.

The listed ten stressful events for children of divorce are in no way gender specific. The blatant Dad bashing is unconscionable and indefensible. Can you imagine a young person seeing this poster when in fact their family situation involves a mother asking questions about the Dad, a mother saying bad things about the Dad, the mother saying she doesn’t like the child spending time with their Dad, and the mother acting unhappy?

We respectfully ask that the poster and all similar gender discriminatory posters, flyers, brochures, and other such items be immediately removed from all San Diego Superior Court Houses.

Maybe a lawsuit is in order to get these Judges to act according to their canons. Thurston County washington had these same posters until the news lit a fire under them to shine the light of day.
Then they removed them, stating they were mostly correct!

Good lord.
You know, they didn’t even have to make every one of those statements “gender neutral.” If they’d just alternated sexes every other one, since people of both sexes do these things, that would have been good enough for me. Yeesh. Are we this blind to misandry?

I remember when I did family law in San Diego and I had to do the same when the mediator had a totally gender biased poster on the wall, and the same for the child support services department. In both cases they did remove the posters. Amazing. Thank you.
