NATIONAL COALITION FOR MEN KICKS OFF AMERICA’S
CELEBRATION OF 2012 INTERNATIONAL MEN’S DAY
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (USA) – Founded in 1977, the National Coalition for Men (www.ncfm.org) is the oldest and one of the most proactive and largest Men’s Issues organization in the United States, For 35 years, the National Coalition for Men (“NCFM”) has effectively and tirelessly addressed issues affecting Men that include, but are not limited to, men’s health, male domestic violence victims, homelessness, and Fatherhood.
NCFM will kick off the United States’ celebration of 2012 International Men’s Day (www.international-mens-day.com) and what is being heralded as “International Men’s Day Weekend” on Friday, 16 November 2012 with an event organized by NCFM Vice President Marc Angelucci in partnership with the Fraternal Brotherhood of Eagles. America’s “kick off” event for 2012 International Men’s Day will be held at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Eagle Rock, California on Friday, 16 November 2012 beginning at 7:00 P.M. (P.D.T.).
“The National Coalition For Men has been a staunch advocate for Men’s Health issues for 35 years and has helped to educate America and the world about the unique parenting and health issues that Men have. It continues to move America and the world to examine how it can effectively and aggressively address Men’s Health issues and how it can and must give boys ‘the best possible start in life.’ It is only fitting that this organization is ‘kicking off’ America’s celebration of 2012 International Men’s Day which is being observed under the theme, ‘Helping Men and Boys Live Longer, Happier, Healthier Lives’. The National Coalition for Men is one of the ‘unsung heroes’ of the Global Fatherhood and Men’s Issues Movement,” remarked Diane A. Sears, the United States Coordinator for International Men’s Day.
Inaugurated in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago by Jerome Teelucksingh, Ph.D., a faculty member in the History Department of the University of West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, International Men’s Day shares a 48-hour partnership with Universal Children’s Day which is observed worldwide on 20th November of each year and is endorsed by the United Nations. Over 60 nations throughout our global village will observe 2012 International Men’s Day under the theme, “Helping Men and Boys Live Longer, Happier, Healthier Lives.”
Celebrate International Men’s Day, Men and those who love them deserve it.
