Hello NCFM Members and Supporters. Please help us raise funds to help Dads
The C.O.P.E. Family Support Center is hosting a fundraiser eat on WED May 18th at the Habit Burger Grill in Concord at 1110 Concord Ave (Trader Joe’s strip mall near Buchanan airport).  Bring in the attached flyer anytime between 4pm and 9pm and 20% of your meal purchase will go to COPE’s parent education and support programs. COPE wants to strengthen its father involvement program to include services its grants don’t fund and that’s one reason why we’re having this fundraiser.
COPE wants to offer one-on-one help to connect dads to community resources, such as where and who to go to get a child support order modified. They understand the pain so many separated fathers feel, they listen and help them navigate the family courts and child support system. I’m highly impressed with COPE’s father-friendly mindset and have been volunteering since December to expand their outreach to dads. COPE also would like to be able to connect the largely low-income fathers they serve to affordable legal services.
This all takes money, but with enough support we can do it!  We already raised $1,530 at our last restaurant fundraiser, thanks to COPE’s dedicated support network. We plan to offer fun father-friendly events and will fundraise to make them happen.  If you get a chance, stop by to check them out. And if you’re in Concord on 5/18 and feeling hungry, your yummy food purchase at the Habit will benefit the lives of fathers and their families in Contra Costa and beyond.
