“Equality” means sharing the benefits and the burdens of citizenship.
NCFM NOTE: Inexplicably the US Attorney General is fighting this case with what appears to be little or no concern for equal treatment under the law, even though the Department of Defense leans toward our position. This case is in its fifth year. We speculate there may be three primary reasons it is taking so long to resolve:
- (1) No court likes controversial cases, especially this one.
- (2) All involved think the decision should be left to Congress. However, Congress has had more than sufficient time to resolve this problem and they have chosen not too.
- (3) All involved except us are terrified of the feminist backlash that surely will follow the decision regardless of its direction.
