Re: Publication of False, Defamatory and Disparaging Material Of and Concerning the National Coalition For Men and its President, Harry Crouch
Dear Ms. Baynes-Dunning:
I am the President of the National Coalition For Men (“NCFM”). This letter is a demand for an immediate retraction of false, defamatory and disparaging material published by Southern Poverty Law Center (“SPLC”) of and concerting NCFM and me. It is also a request that SPLC preserve all documents related to the publications, as discussed below.
Background on NCFM
NCFM is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending harmful discrimination against men, boys and the women who love them. Since 1977, and at all times, NCFM has stood for equal treatment under the law between men and women. Among many other achievements, we are proud of our recent victory in NCFM v. Selective Service, a federal case in which we succeeded in having the male-only draft registration declared unconstitutional.
False, Defamatory and Disparaging Statements
SPLC published a webpage entitled “Male Supremacy”, subtitled “Male supremacy is a hateful ideology advocating for the subjugation of women.” 1 Your “Male Supremacy” page contains the following quote…
You can read the entire letter here: Letter to SPLC
All people need to take responsibility for their actions and to be socially truly aware regarding equality without prejudice This applies to both sexes. It’s an interesting observation that women in American society want equality, however as a group many want to reap the privileges and benefits without the social, economic and civil responsibility that goes along with it. No, many women don’t want men to protect them, yet they expect and reinforce an array of behaviors in order for men to stand up for them. Society can accept the idea that men can fight against each other or for a woman to violently assault a man, however if a man protects himself by pushing or slapping a woman people are horrified. This is continually reinforced in the movies which sends a clear message that it is ok for both sexes to physically assault men. Military service is merely voluntarily in America, however registration for a possible draft is strictly restricted to males. Again, women can be part of the military, however at wartime they avoid civic responsibility by not supporting a draft for both sexes. False accusations of sexual abuse against boys and men is rampant and yet our judicial system does not punish those that have ruined so peoples lives; this should be equally applied to both sexes. As a teacher I am appalled that American society has developed to a level that it is humous to strike a boy or a man on the crotch: it has become common humor in both cartoons and the movies. This has been observed in children’s movies as well. Such overt sexual assault was observed in the girl’s department in a large department store….a tee-shirt depicted a girl kicking a boy on the crotch with the caption ‘kick a boy in the nuts today’. This again sends a message to young girls that expressing violence against boys and future men is acceptable. Vulgarity in everyday life degrades men and boys with constant degrading of male genitalia . Very few if any vulgarity toward women and certainly never a girl would ever be accepted due to social taboos.
In a way social taboos protect our society, however if applied to one class only it clearly protects the one class while developing prejudice toward the other. Social values and civic duty such as registration for the military need to be applied through policy in order to truly develop into a society with equal opportunity.
Well done.
Excellent letter, Harry! If this racist, sexist, misandristic and horrible organization does not retract their sickening, totally unfounded and defamatory accusation I hope NCFM sues them out of existence!
Wishing you luck in doing to SPLC what SPLC did to the KKK!
The SPLC has accused NCFM and its president of the very tactics that the SPLC itself has been using to promote a bigoted, sexist, misandrist, and self serving agenda. I hope that this Cease, Desist, and Preserve Evidence letter will be but the first step in unveiling this organization’s inimical intrusion on the NCFM’s fight for gender equality.
Wonderful, Harry!

Very well said Mr. Davis. Well said indeed…
