NCFM helps Del Mar Thoroughbred Club not to discriminate against men

As of today, the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club‘s “Ladies’ Day” has been changed to “Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Day.” (still looks like it is for women, cannot find any goodies for guys, but it is a good start on the road to redemption) How does that happen? On July 26, 2011 we sent the world famous Del Mar Thoroughbred Club a letter advising them that their scheduled “Ladies Day” was discriminatory and violated a host of California laws, not to mention California’s constitution. The letter included a copy of the new Unruh Act brochure published by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (the agency charged with Unruh Act oversight) and a copy of an advisory letter from the California’s Attorney General, who is now the Governor; that is, Jerry Brown. Shortly thereafter someone named Sue Nami sent Del...

Letter from NCFM “old timer” to new NCFM member regarding men’s rights activism

The following letter resulted from an inquiry from a new NCFM member (by the way, if you have not joined NCFM you may as well do it now, just click on the join NCFM button to the right and help us help you make the world a better place for all of us…): NCFM doesn’t have a self-starter, activism kit for new members at this time, but it would be a good idea if we did.  I think your email may be the motivation I need to write an article about that topic for NCFM.   As a 501 (c)3, NCFM is primarily an “educational” organization.  We “educate” through a variety of ways, including letters and visits to elected representative’s offices.  Politicians have become increasingly aware of the issues facing males in Western society, but much, much more needs...

NCFM Members Helping Our Troops

NCFM Members Helping Our Troops

Amongst other activities, the nonprofit organization Honoring Our Troops packs care packages for our troops. Three NCFM members are directly involved with Honoring Our Troops, two of who are key to the organizations success (Rich and Allan). The other is me. They let me help with things not to complicated. Honoring Our Troops staff spent months coordinating for its first care package event which took place July 30, 2011 in the San Diego Veteran’s Museum and Memorial. Between 60 and 80 volunteers helped pack over 400 care packages for troops in Afghanistan! Ghost Busters “Echo 1” even showed up and helped with some of the boxes. So did State Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher who recently threw his hat in the ring for the upcoming San Diego Mayoral race. Some argue that helping our troops is not a men’s rights issue....

NCFM Canadian Liaison Earl Silverman, “Female violence society’s “dirty little secret,” especially in Alberta”

By Christopher Walsh, reporter Calgary Beacon, July  29, 2011 Twenty years ago, a man named Earl was sitting alone in a mobile home, the oven door open, two propane tanks set on either side, when the phone rang. He wasn’t expecting the call, it just sort of came out of the blue as he readied to turn on the gas. It was an acquaintance checking in to see how he was. It had been a tumultuous time. Forced to finally leave his wife and admit that he was the victim of female-perpetrated domestic violence was not an easy thing to do. Not only was the issue not talked about, there were no support services to help men like Earl Silverman. He became a pariah, openly mocked and laughed at when he tried to explain his...

NCFM distributes another flyer throughout Congress — “Where’s the Outrage”

This is the last in a continuing series of flyers that NCFM has distributed to all members of the United States House of Representatives, the Senate, applicable committees, and members of the President’s administration, as applicable. In conjunction with like-minded organizations currently, diligently, and effectively educating our policy makers of the importance of equitable treatment for all of us. I especially wish to thank those of our members in the Washington D.C. area who make the distribution of these flyers possible. For a number of reasons these NCFM members will for now go unnamed, they know who they are, and they are heroes by any measure. Our seemingly endless efforts in conjunction with the endless efforts of our allies will soon materialize in significant legislative reforms. We anticipate such reforms will first be noticeable in the Violence Against Women...

NCFM Chicago Chapter President and author says “It all balances out” — Value vs. Validity

My book—Loving Men, Respecting Women: The Future of Gender Politics—is all about convincing the reader that It All Balances Out—which is to say, in the benefits enjoyed and in the liabilities suffered, in the power and in the victimization, in the freedoms and in the constraints, it all balances out between Man and Woman. As a statement, It All Balances Out may be evaluated according to two factors, value and validity. The value of the statement derives from whatever beneficial influence a belief in Balance may effect in our world. The validity of the statement depends upon the quantity and quality of truth it contains. The book is primarily dedicated to arguing the essential validity of It All Balances Out. But the two may be argued separately. In this essay, adapted from the book, I’d like to make a...

Some things just don’t change. DV expert Casey Gwin doing the politically correct mumbojumbo…

Stopping Domestic Violence CBS News Casey Gwinn and Gael Strack speak with Harry Smith about protecting domestic violence victims and the program they founded, National Family Justice Center … Watch the above video before reading the last letter sent to Gwinn (below) when he was San Diego’s City Attorney.  Notice that his public persona shown in the video pretty much replicates his beliefs of ten years ago. Notice that in the video he still defers to “abused women” rather than the all inclusive “victims”. Casey and I have had several conversations over the years and I know he knows better. The last I heard Ms. Strack while teaching at a local law school still uses an antiquated text book absent contemporary evidence based information about domestic violence — evidence, a plethora of which, clearly and irrefutably establishes that domestic...

NCFM Advisor Op-Ed re VAWA published

The op-ed below was posted on Men’s News Daily on Monday July 11, 2011. Gordon E. Finley, Ph.D. VAWA: An Idea Whose Time Never Should Have Come Like facing a hurricane, America now faces the reauthorization of a powerful and destructive feminist-made disaster tearing through the lives of children, fathers, families and the nation’s formerly bedrock institution of marriage. The reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) begins on July 13, 2011. Now is the time to engage in disaster mitigation to either defund VAWA or to redirect it to serve equally the other half of domestic violence victims – men. VAWA was born of fraud and in this year of towering economic devastation – unless the law is rewritten to grant men full due process rights and equal justice under law – it should be defunded. The...

To the women of NOW – a rant

To the women of NOW – a rant

By Steven DeLuca Excuse my grammar and spelling. I grew up in housing projects, violent and poorly educated family. I spend summers as a child working in bean and berry fields and like many males from lower-class homes I never caught up with Spelling, grammar and punctuation. That doesn’t make me stupid although I am sure you will think I am by the end of this mini rant, but what I do know is gender issues. What I have learned is that almost all so called experts in gender issues are women who are only concerned about one gender, their own. Boys brought up to never cry, or whine or complain, but to “make money” because their net worth and self-worth are often the same, don’t get together in groups and talk about how tough men have it compared...

NCFM PR Director Steven Svoboda letter published in San Francisco Weekly

When Jobs Become Fatal There’s a gender factor in occupational hazards: I found it curious that Joe Eskenazi’s article saw fit to omit the most salient, indeed, shocking statistic from his source document , namely that a whopping 4,216 men died in the workplace in 2009 compared to only 335 women. If 93 percent (or even 60 percent) of workplace deaths that occurred were women, I suspect Eskenazi would have told readers about it. At the National Coalition for Men, we feel that the hugely disparate impact on men of workplace fatalities should be better publicized. Government resources should be devoted to saving working men’s lives, as they are already (properly) being spent in numerous areas to promote women’s...

Dads on the Air | www.dadsontheair.net Local Sydney Time: 10.30am to 12 midday Tuesdays Listen to the show at www.dadsontheair.net On 30th May 2011, the community, media and Government were outraged, when confronted by the cruelty inflicted on Australian cattle in Indonesia, and it brought immediate Government action. Within days a whole industry was closed down and a valuable export trade was stopped in its tracks. Three days earlier on the 27th May 2011, the Government released the ABS Family Characteristics Survey 2009-10, which indicates that since 1975 almost 24% of Australians have been denied meaningful contact with their biological families, as a result of deep-rooted Family Law policy failure. Yet now one month later, we have still not seen one word in...

NCFM listed in San Diego Domestic Violence Council resource guide for fathers.

The San Diego Domestic Violence Council, San Diego Fathers Network, and Solo Parenting in San Diego should be congratulated for putting together this first ever  resource guide for fathers (55% resolution). Hopefully, this will serve as an example to other communities. Sadly, there is only one organization listed with the word “men”, ours. There are two other organizations that stood out that are primarily for fathers. There are even a few organizations listed that from my perspective and experience are arguably anti-male.  The absence of services dedicated to males is a reflection of how little males matter in our local community, which, of course, is true worldwide. Regardless, this resource guide is a step in the right direction, a step toward treating males as humans. To my knowledge this is also the first time NCFM has been included in...

NCFM in the news! Stop double standard (scroll down to article) Re the June 21 article Charges formally dropped against Wittels: Everybody has a vested interest in eliminating false rape charges. For males, false rape charges often appear on the front page of national newspapers, destroying their lives and careers and it never completely goes away even if a retraction is printed. For females, as the number of false rape charges are revealed, the public will find these charges non-credible. Those who truly are raped will not be believed. Another national media case where three Duke University lacrosse players, falsely accused, were “convicted” by their university president, faculty members and the media was based on one woman’s word. That woman now sits in jail charged with the stabbing death of her most recent boyfriend. I have two suggestions: First,...

NCFM had an informational booth and as a sponsor out logo was included in promotional materials, NCFM wristbands, t-shirts, and a large banner at the start/finish line. NCFM is a founder of the San Diego Children Coalition and we are honored to be involved in this first ever celebration of Fathers. There was a festival in conjunction with the walk-a-thon with hawkers and vendors, one with great hotdogs and hot sausages! Some of the vendors were upset. The San Diego Port Authority had double booked the park without telling the promoters. Consequently, a large lacrosse tournament took up most of the park, vendors had to be relocated, and parking lots were filled primarily with...

“Dear Woman” as man I am to blame for everything you ever did wrong. I aplogize.

…yup, that’s what these guys say in one of the strangest videos I’ve ever seen. These guys make Congressman Wiener look like the stud he always wanted to be, even with his cloths on. Porky Pig, Silvester, Elmer Fud, Bugs and the whole Looney Tunes crew combined make more sense than the male apologists from the Conscious Man . They blame men for all the ills ever to befall women. They even apologize for dead guys.  They feel “sorrow” for…for — well, for more things than can be listed here in any reasonable amount of time. That said, these questionably conscious men have a “Manifesto for Conscious Men” which is somehow connected to the earth, animalism, superstition, intuition, and wisdom of the feminist heart. First, contemporary feminists don’t have hearts. They are ideological auto-matrons goose-stepping us all toward oblivion....

These targets are the president, Muslims, socialists, Democrats, felony immigrants, atheists and the City of Yuma. The writers’ favorite topics of choice are the decline and fall of American values, Medicare, taxation, gays in the military, the Europeanization of America, the effect of felony immigration on the economy, unions and, finally, the president’s citizenship. Please allow me to suggest some genuinely formidable targets such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Anti-Defamation League, the National Organization for Women, the National Coalition for Men, the American Union of Men, the Libertarians, the Wiccans,...

That’s progress, a good thing, something that America should emulate. Aussie Ian Wilson, a long term NCFM member, sent the newspaper the following additional information: Dear Editor, For twenty five years now we have been dutifully feed media opinion pieces and Government reports (Men expected to die five years earlier than women, Aussie study indicates: The Australian 14/06/11) that tell us that men don’t care about their own health. U.S. Supreme Court Rules Fathers are Inferior

U.S. Supreme Court Rules Fathers are Inferior

In an unbelievable decision the U.S. Supreme Court’s 4-4 vote yesterday denied a San Diego man’s rightful claim that men are treated disparately due to a gender-based standard in immigration law. The tie vote affirmed a 9th U.S. Court of Appeals judgment that the immigration law’s higher standard for determining citizenship for the children of men than it does for children of women is constitutional. Justice Elena Kagan was recused from the case, apparently due to her related work at the Justice Department. Petitioner Ruben Flores-Villar was born in Mexico but raised in the United States by his father, a U.S. citizen. He challenged the gender-based standard to overturn his conviction for illegally re-entering the country. Flores-Villar v. United States , 095801 . Thanks to the Supreme Court, Ruben, is not an American. Why, because he has a father...

NCFM Los Angeles Chapter member and others sue Judges for civil rights violations! $40 million in damages sought for unequal custody and false domestic violence!

Los Angeles, CA — On June 15, at the Los Angeles Law Library, Dennis Ettlin and Daniel Cooper announce the filing of 8 civil law suits against 8 Los Angeles County judges. The 8 civil suits seek $38 million for civil rights violations and damages for prejudice against fathers. The lawsuits highlight judicial bias bought by L.A. County bribes and begin a fourth prong in the campaign to stop judicial bribes in California. The first effort by Judicial Watch succeeded with the Sturgeon I and II cases in getting the bribes ruled un-constitutional. The second effort, on April 13th, was the Judicial Watch demand for District Attorney Steve Cooley to seek the return of $350 million to the county.  The third prong is a legal challenge to void the orders of bribed judges. The Appellate Court, in its Sturgeon...

Long time NCFM member Mike Geanoulis announced that the New Hampshire Commission of the Status of Men (CSM) appears to have withstood efforts to sunset its authorization. CSM is arguably only one of four legislatively enacted bodies of its type in the United States. Mike reports that even though the New Hampshire Legislative Committee to Study Boards and Commissions Committee on Committees (NHCOC) recommended closure of the CSM the Committee of Conference agreed to extend CSM two years and add two more seats to the — one appointment each from the House and Senate leadership. HB380 will be revised accordingly and resubmitted to the floor of the House and Senate. Mike, a founding member of CSM, and others have been diligently lobbying to preserve CSM for well over a year. There was tremendous pressure to sunset the Commission. Without Mike’s commitment...

Fathers hold a special place in a child’s life. Dads can become involved in their child’s sports, while others enjoy teaching their kids new skills or just spending precious time together. One young father admits it will be a difficult day for him. “It’s going to suck,” said 18-year-old Christian Diaz. That’s because Diaz will not have his one-year-old son with him. You may remember Diaz from an earlier column. His then-girlfriend placed their son in adoption, without Diaz’ consent. Both were teenagers when...

WHEN THE LUNATICS RUN THE ASYLUM

By George Rolf Those of us who have been around the men’s movement for a while can imagine how the conversation went. The desperate father knowing that this may be the last time he ever sees his children again. Negotiating and trying to keep the whole contact thing between her and him. Not wanting to go into a kangaroo court to watch a judge take control and remove all access to the children. Depression pulling at his mind. Panicked attempts to try and get the Ex to see reason. Trying hard to control the anger pounding in the chest. Sometimes failing, then realising anger is a mistake and trying again to be reasonable. Seeing in the mothers eyes the sense of power she has. Maybe she smirked. Maybe she said something like “I will see to it you never...

One of the topics was male-dominated society versus gender equality.  Needless to say, I certainly had a strong opinion of this one!  Though I have already told my students about NCFM (some even expressed an interest in joining), I reiterated what we stand for.  For one thing, I emphasized that we reject the idea that there ever was a “patriarchy”.  Instead, we believe that...

The Conservative Case in Favor of San Francisco’s Proposed Ban on Male Circumcision

NOTE: It needs to be emphasized that NCFM is non partisan. We have members from all political spectrum’s and take great care not to slant things in any particular political direction. However, recently conservative pundits have joined the pro circumcision crowd voicing objection to pending legislation in San Francisco which would ban circumcision on boys under the age of 18. NCFM strongly supports that initiative as it would any initiative that advocates in the best interests of boys, especially boys health. So, the article below is written by a conservative wishing to assure other conservatives that they are on the wrong side of right in opposing the legislation proposed in San Francisco. Personal representations by the author about San Francisco, specific politicians, and so forth are not necessarily representative of NCFM and its membership. By Carl...

Times have changed. No longer do all men bring home the bacon and long gone are the days that all women fry it up in a pan. Still there are rights that are not being given to… men? It may not seem that way, but in many areas where families are concerned, men usually get the short end of the stick. In custody cases, is domestic violence cases, in the case of changing a babies diaper in a public facility, there is a bias against men. Prosecutors supressed this evidence in the first trial.

In this video Ligia Filler twice threatens to kill police officers, she threatens to kill her husband, threatens to cut him or police office into pieces and enjoy it. Ligia files spousal rape charges against her husband Vladek. He’s convicted. The tape recording below and other evidence was not shown to the jury, the evidence was suppressed. The Maine Supreme Court remands the case for retrial siting prosecutorial misconduct. The District Attorney chooses to retry the case using a different Assistant District Attorney, this one a man. The first prosecutor, Mary Kellet, appears to be ideologically impaired and a puppet of feminist jurisprudence. How does that work? Ligia threatens to kill people including police, cut them up in little pieces, is not charged with any crime, and then, unbelievably, she is found by the prosecution to be otherwise credible...

Why modern feminism is illogical, unnecessary, and evil

Why modern feminism is illogical, unnecessary, and evil

by Satoshi Kanazawa The Scientific Fundamentalist Feminism is the radical notion that women are men Published on August 2, 2009 by Satoshi Kanazawa in The Scientific Fundamentalist Although it is not Susan Pinker’s intention in writing it, reading her excellent book The Sexual Paradox:  Troubled Boys, Gifted Girls and the Real Difference Between the Sexes cannot help but further reinforce my view that modern feminism in the 21st century is simultaneously illogical, unnecessary, and evil. First, modern feminism is illogical because, as Pinker points out, it is based on the vanilla assumption that, but for lifelong gender socialization and pernicious patriarchy, men and women are on the whole identical.  An insurmountable body of evidence by now conclusively demonstrates that the vanilla assumption is false; men and women are inherently, fundamentally, and irreconcilably different.  Any political movement based on such...

Just lie, doing so is a woman’s prerogative

Just lie, doing so is a woman’s prerogative

The homeless go without adequate food and shelter, but if you are a woman and falsely accuse your partner of domestic violence or sexual assault you get all the food you need. The elderly go without medicine and proper health care, but if you are a woman and falsely accuse your partner of domestic violence or sexual assault you get all the medicine you need. The mentally ill go without treatment, but if you are a woman and falsely accuse your partner of domestic violence or sexual assault you get all the mental health services you need. Our troops often go without necessary equipment and Veterans are often denied adequate health care, but if you are a woman and you falsely accuse your partner of domestic violence or sexual assault you will enjoy a part of the $1 billion...

Court: No right to resist illegal cop entry into home

Earlier this month the Indiana Supreme Court ruled that people have no right to resist unlawful police entry into their homes. One of the justices wrote that if a police officer wants to enter a home for any reason or no reason at all, a homeowner cannot do anything to block the officer’s entry, apparently no warrant required. This case involved a couple who returned to their apartment after arguing outside. The police insisted on entering the apartment, apparently to make sure no one was injured, probably the woman since the involved man was barring police from entering. The Court said, “We believe … a right to resist an unlawful police entry into a home is against public policy and is incompatible with modern Fourth Amendment jurisprudence,” David said. “We also find that allowing resistance unnecessarily escalates the level...

Honorable Men

The New Warrior community is a group of men who specially pride themselves on being honorable. Tim Goldich, President NCFM Chicago Chapter and author of, Loving Men, Respecting Women: The Future of Gender Politics joined that community several years ago. He came to realize just how vulnerable honorable men are to having their honor used against them. Our fate may indeed depend upon honorable conduct. To better understand how the misuse of Man’s honor is a root cause of issues and ideas found on this website you should first read Mr. Goldich’s article, The Honorable Man. It lights the way to understanding how The Honorable Man can be manipulated into becoming The Complacent Man.
