In 1994 adolescent elephants were discovered senselessly killing other animals in Africa, later it was found due to the fact they had been removed from their fathers, creating a scene where “there are no adult bulls around to keep them in checkā¦So they’re highly aggressive and are testing their strength on other animals.” Today, in the United States, sons are removed from their fathers at alarming rates, a by-product of the increasing number of failed marriages. We see the result in tragedies like the recent Newton, Conn. shootings and are left wondering āwhat is driving our children to murder?ā Warren Farrell recently responded that the reported perpetrator of the Newton massacre, Adam Lanza, had begun a downward spiral following the divorce of his parents. Farrell continues that only one of the 62 mass murders in the past three decades has been female, positing this is due to fatherless boys raised without strong male role models.
This lack of direction manifests itself in young menās lives as poor social skills, concentration, empathy, even suicide, not to mention plagued with problems with discipline, delinquency, depression, drugs, and alcohol. Robert Bly reinforced this theory by stating boys must grow up with their fathers every hour of every day and every day of every year. If not, a hole would develop in the boyās psyche, and this hole cannot be filled with little Bambis and Walt Disney movies, the hole will be filled with demonsā¦demons of mistrust for older men.
Further perpetuating this phenomenon, the young men begin to attack anyone attempting to provide this guidance, turning instead to gaming and pornography. With these narrow interests and poor social skills, they find the most important thing in their lives also the most elusive, relationships with the opposite sex. Farrell refers to this as a āfailure to launchā which continues throughout their life, until they turn 18, then forced to launch a successful business or military career. Rarely succeeding at either they are quickly introduced to the realities of Predominant Aggressor statutes and the devastation of false allegations of abuse, the two obliterating the fragile worldview previously constructed.
Their lives devastated and more confused than ever before, the testosterone raging through their veins results in aggression and, with no guidance on how to assert this aggression positively in society, they turn to violence, frequently violence of suicide. The suicide rates of nine-year-old children is nearly comparable between boys and girls however, after subjected to the brutalities of being modern men, males are five times more likely to take their own lives by age 25. Increasingly we are seeing these highly aggressive males screaming for guidance of their masculinity and testing their strength by murdering as many as possible before taking their own lives, it is sad it comes to this for society to realize the importance of fathers.

YOUNG MEN MUST REGISTER FOR THE SELECTIVE SERVICE (SSS) BUT NOT YOUNG WOMEN, ALTHOUGH BOTH MAY VOLUNTEER FOR MILITARY SERVICE AND CAREERS.
According to Statistic Canada the official government agency that collects data with the exemption of sexual abuse, women perpetrate the majority of abuse on children. However sexual abuse perpetrated by women is far from insignificant, as I can attest from personal experience.
I am not going to argue over this but I, for one, would have been overjoyed not to have my father in the house. Abusive men do not need to be around their children or anyone else’s children.
By whatever measures you are using, then, neither do abusive mothers.
